Chief Fuller serves on the Junior Police Academy’s Advisory Council and was instrumental in the development of the program. “Pat was in the unique position to see real potential of JPA as a way to shape kids into responsible citizens,” said Kelly LeConte, JPA Program Director. “He had vision and conviction to take a leap of faith with us. The success of JPA in Austin, has helped grow the program nationwide.”
Chief Patrick Fuller helmed the Austin Independent School District Police Department from its creation in 1986 through 2010. Under Fuller’s leadership, the department went from a small security team to a staff of 105 with a budget of close to $7 million.
After retiring, Fuller joined the City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation Department, overseeing Rangers and the Emergency Management Program.
