PoliceUSA Welcomes Chaplain Rick Bulman to Austin

PoliceUSA was honored to welcome Chaplain Rick Bulman (Pierce County Sheriff’s Department) to Austin, CHAPLAIN RICK BULMANTexas to discuss chaplaincy. The interviews conducted by Executive Director Phillip LeConte will appear on two programs that assist agencies in preparing for or responding to line of duty deaths:

SURVIVOR NETWORK

THE POLICE CHAPLAIN PROJECT

Chaplain Bulman’s experience with critical incidents extends from his combat service in Vietnam to providing support to officers in the wake of one of the deadliest days in law enforcement history – the killing of four Lakewood Police Department officers on Nov. 29, 2009.

Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards were killed as they prepared for their Sunday shifts.

“Since I committed my life to the Lord over thirty years ago I have served in some kind of ministry. I love helping people and serving those who serve, the men and women of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department,” says Chaplain Bulman.

“In all honesty, I am an adrenalin junkie and enjoy being where the action is. I believe that God has equipped and called me through my background as a combat vet, volunteer firefighter and coming from a long family line of emergency responders. God has me exactly where He wants me and I am delighted to serve Him.”

Our thanks to Rick for sharing his hard-earned wisdom with other caregivers in the law enforcement community.
