“Too few young people understand the important role that police officers play in our communities. Police officers protect, yes, but they also provide a public face for our community-building efforts, instilling confidence and inspiring investment. The Junior Police Academy and its partners are teaching young people to better understand the unique work undertaken by law enforcement professionals, which is a good investment in our future. And, perhaps more importantly from the students’ point of view, it’s fun!”
Josh Meeks was part of the original creative team who helped create the Junior Police Academy program materials. Today he is a strategic communications and public affairs consultant who specializes in the Texas Legislature. He has written one novel (unpublished) and is working on his second. He has two young sons who will attend JPA as soon as they are old enough.
